My Sexy Saturday, week 34

Welcome to another edition of My Sexy Saturday!  My Sexy Saturday is a blog hop, which provides writers an opportunity to post 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs of their own work - published or a work in progress - based on a weekly sexy theme.

The theme this week is 'You're Sexy To Me', and my excerpt is from an untitled WIP (I also posted an excerpt from this story for week 32).  It is focused on two characters - Lucas and Jenna - who a few years earlier suffered a second trimester pregnancy loss.  The loss affected both of them, but in different ways.  Lucas became very protective of Jenna, which often came across as him being controlling.  On the day this little scene happens, Jenna went for a coffee with a new friend, India, and didn't tell Lucas, something which made him very unhappy...

---------------------------------------------------------

“The way James talks about India, it's obvious how happy they are and what an equal relationship they have, and I am worried that maybe India is going to try to make you see what a controlling ass I am, or that you're going to see them together and realise that you want that for yourself and then it's going to be bye-bye Lucas,” Lucas confessed and Jenna smiled sadly at him as she put her hand on his thigh.
“My love, they have been together all of two minutes.  When we were that new we were exactly the same, but then life happens, Lucas.  Life happens and sometimes it can throw a fuck load of shit your way, and it changes you, it changes your relationship, it changes the dynamics. Plus we have been together over five years now, we are past being 'polite' to each other to keep the other person happy.  So, no, I am not jealous of what they have, I am jealous that they have that new-person feeling, the brand-new-love feeling, but what I have with you is so much more than that, I have a life with you, we are family.  I have been madly in love with you for five years and today when India asked how we got together and I told her how we met I couldn't stop smiling, and even more I couldn't wait to get home to see you, to hug you and kiss you and tell you I love you,” Jenna said, becoming emotional as she tried to explain the depth of her feelings to him.

  2. Very intense conversation. It's always hard to explain to someone just what you feel. Even if that someone is your long time lover. Thanks for sharing...enjoyed your snippet.
